Val Thorens - altitude: 2300 metres
This ski resort is not only characterised by its impressive altitude of 2300 metres and guaranteed snow from November to May, but also by its wide range of experiences and unique atmosphere.
Within the largest ski area in the world, the 3 Vallées, Val Thorens offers optimal conditions for skiers and snowboarders of all levels. With more than 600 km of pistes spread over more than 1,500 hectares, the area boasts impressive dimensions and offers panoramic views of peaks such as Mont Blanc, the Vanoise massif, the Écrins and more.
A unique feature is the accessibility for all levels of skiers, with around half of the slopes classified as green and blue, allowing even beginners to enjoy the experience safely. Families will appreciate the themed areas with activities for all ages, from snowparks to family zip-lines.
With one ski pass, you can explore 7 ski resorts in the area, including Courchevel, Méribel and Les Menuires. This variety allows you to discover slopes hidden in a forest of snow-covered fir trees and reach peaks near glaciers, providing a unique experience in the heart of an exceptional natural environment.
This makes Val Thorens not only the highest resort in Europe with guaranteed snow, but also a place for active relaxation. The sheer size of the ski area, both in terms of vertical gradient and surface area, is sure to impress even the most experienced skiers. To give you an idea, the distance between Courchevel and Orelle is about 20 km as the crow flies. Val Thorens was created 50 years ago.
